Practical Law New Zealand resources updated to incorporate TCLP model climate clauses
Companies are increasingly evaluated on environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and ESG is a hot topic for legal advisers.
But how can lawyers help their clients effect real change? The Chancery Lane Project (TCLP) has created model contract clauses and other legal resources that support the fight against climate change – one agreement at a time. These TCLP resources are geared towards parties seeking to be market leaders in addressing ESG concerns.
Practical Law New Zealand has joined this initiative by highlighting relevant TCLP resources in our resources. This makes accessing the model clauses easier and gives our subscribers the opportunity to help the move towards addressing climate change. For more information about the TCLP and its model clauses, see Toolkit, The Chancery Lane Project: model climate clauses.
An example of a Practical Law New Zealand resource that has been updated to include links to TCLP model climate clauses is Practice note, Confidentiality agreements. The note now includes a link to Climate Purposed NDA Terms (Confidentiality Agreement) (Kaia's clause) which imposes an obligation on the parties to include an agreed climate change purpose during their commercial discussions and ensure that information disclosed during those discussions remains confidential.
