At the end of the session participants will be able to:
- Understand the depth of content for the Family Practice area, and how to keep up to date with new and changing materials
- Locate a document, commentary publication or case using the global search bar
- Understand the difference between plain language searching and Boolean searching
- How to structure a Terms & Connectors search, identify keywords, and build a search string
- Find case law using the Key Number System or Advanced Search
- Understand the case analysis options when looking at case law
- Refine, filter and narrow search results
- Print, download or save to folders
- Annotate documents, using highlights and notes
- Know how to get further assistance when using Westlaw
- Be aware of Custom Pages including the Family Custom Page to be supplied by the trainer at the end of the session
