Land Transport (Road Safety) Amendment Act 2023 coming into force on 1 March 2024
The Act aims to enable the New Zealand Police and the New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi to detect inappropriate behavior on the road and carry out enforcement activities.
It amends the Land Transport Act 1998, Sentencing Act 2002, Summary Proceedings Act 1957, Privacy Act 2020, Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Regulations 1999, Land Transport (Infringement and Reminder Notices) Regulations 2012, Land Transport (Requirements for Storage and Towage of Impounded Vehicles) Regulations 1999, Land Transport (Storage and Towage Fees for Impounded Vehicles) Regulations 1999 and the Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Regulations 1999.
